Michelle is serving as an AmeriCorps Programs VISTA for the 23/24 school year. She believes that educational opportunity is essential for the advancement of socio-economic equity.In 2019, Michelle obtained a bachelor’s in psychology with a minor in Chicana/o studies from UC Davis. She is trained in Applied Behavioral Analysis and Teaching English as a Foreign Language. She has a California substitute teaching permit as well.Michelle has a professional background in administration and research in the fields of law and healthcare. Recently, she served as a Memory Care Director during the COVID-19 pandemic. Michelle is currently preparing to apply for a master’s program in social work.When she is not working on her AmeriCorps VISTA projects, Michelle enjoys reading books, binge watching dark sci-fi dramas, and riding horses.
